Kiki og en grå jago på Grønttorvet

Hmmm, maybe this cam isn't so bad after all, this is a pretty good picture of a duck

Copycats, we have got the same Phone (NEC e228) Diabolo, Backpack (Haglfs Tight Pro x_large) and pants. Also almost identical computers (X40 and x31) and almost identical tank tops.

Google Video

The video I postet some time ago is finally online. It features Magnus doing acrobatics. It was taken with my crappy NEC e228.

Now I have a much better way of taking video, with my new super-deluxe IXUS 50 according to Magnus, who is currently at the Roskilde-Festival hopefully taking a lot of nice pictures with my new bad ass 1GB SD card (wow a million bytes!)

Spring cleaning

This is a late Spring cleaning. BTW this post is just random thoughts, you can ignore it or read it if you want a window to my subconsious mind.

I've already done a lot of cleaning up, both physically, metaphorically and mentally. this is very important to do regularly. I still want to clean up more, leave my room emptier, ready for new adventures. I can live without a Fucking Big TV. Choose life? What life? How can life be so mind numbing when the weather is so great? Maybe because I don't have enough time to go out and be in it.

I swear, if I ever get a real Job, I'm either gonna work double time in the winther, and not at all in the summer, or choose an outdoors job. Seriously this is killing me.

Learn French with Skype

Hmmm, this is kinda interesting, you can get better at a language by using Skype.
... By using the Skype Me filter combined with Japan/Japanese options I've already found a couple of new friends to speak to in Japanese. I've only studied Japanese for about half a year and only used Skype for about a week. Most of them don't speak English that well but I've alread had conversations going for ~30 min in Japanese, and once there is a word I don't understand, even after they've tried to explain it to me, they gladly send it my IM so I can look it up...
That's a really neat idea, I think I'm gonna try it out if I ever get some more training in French or Spanish.

Internet Helpdesk

I kinda feel like Internet Helpdesk. It's a mixed emotion, I'm not sure whether I mind or not. I like playing around with computers, but you can only play the first level so many times, it gets old.

So what's the solution? Where's Internet 101 or Modem for Dummies? I know there's propably a thousand of these books, but where's the one that covers all the right stuff.

You really only need three things, the rest comes later.
  1. Firefox
  2. Gmail
  3. Skype
That's the list, those are the essentials, these three things will get you 99% of the way the rest is just filler, bling bling and gadgets.

I wish there was some way of automagically installing MoonDragon and Skype with a push of a button. Ah well it doesn't take long, but if the lusers don't do it themself, they'll come back to you next time their computer isn't working. Something about a cow.

Investing: part one

So I got these 15 b-shares from Merkur Bank. They're really boring, I got a new account where I can keep track of them, but there's nothing shiny about it, there's not even anything romantic about the paper I recieved.

It's one paper with all the shares, boring paper even, I had envisioned wonderful elaborate thick FSC certified paper, one for each share. But I guess this is the cold hard facts of the banking industry.

Well, so be it, I'm going to make a few cold hard calculations.

K0 = 22050kr. r = 7% n = 1 Kn = 23593.5kr.

Hey this this is pretty sweet, I guess if I can't be a romantic, at least I get to be a math geek.

When I get richer, I'm going to start giving out these as birthday gifts, hopefully getting a lot of people to shift banks

Shame

Shame on you Laura, for not protecting your computer!

And shame on XofsSpy for not telling me right away that their software only scans for free, if you want to actually remove the Filthy spyware you have to pony up the dough!

Also shame on AdAware and Spybot S&D for not finding all this spyware

And shame on Guxi for bitching about her network even though I got a wireless network card for her, set it up, checked it out and made it work completely. And completely free of charge. I listen to enough hicks at work Grrrr (yes we're still on for tomorrow sweety)

Happy Birthday Mari-Carmen!

Happy Birthday E=mc²!

I hope I get to see you in a sexy nurse outfit soon :p

Happy guy with Crappy cam

Webcam

As you no doubt have heard, I have a new Webcam. And I've just found out how to get pictures uploaded to this page.

I've set my profile picture to the webcam pic, so in theory you should be able to see whether I'm online or not, in theory that is!

I've also installed the second wireless netcard in Laura's computer, and plan to put my own somewhere else, and clean up this whole pigsty a bit before Roskilde Festival.

Ixus 50

So I've gone and bought the Ixus 50 from Canon, and I thought it would be neat if I blogged about my experience of the camera while unpacking it. I apologise in advance if this is in no way funny or entertaining. In that case just go outside and enjoy the sun.

So I got this big box it's really heavy, it turns out there's half a dead tree inside, Haven't they heard about cd's?

I got out the battery and put it in the charger. Why the hell does all electrical things come with a stupid cable, I have a ton of these cables, I wish I had one with 5 or ten outlets, and just one connection to the power grid. Maybe I should invent this...

anyways, I get the camera out and flip through the barage of dead wood, in four different languages, wouldn't it be easier just to put the danish manual in the danish package? And why isn't there an English manual at all? Oh well, the only reason I'm gonna read it is because I'm waiting for the battery to finish charging. Oh look it's done now, well back in the box with the manual I guess. I don't thing im going to burst into flames if I don't read the warnings in there.

audioBlogger

this is an audio post - click to play

Yay, this is my first audioBlogger post, mostly because I just received an email telling me there was a new number to call. It worked like a charm by the way, and I'm sure they're going to make a bundle on this service.

Apologies

I just want to apologise for a few things. Don't get me wrong, I'm not sad or anything, actually I'm good right now.

I think it was the lack of sleep. Anyway, I've just slept a bit here in Farum and now I'm all better.

I definately don't like the way my life has been the last weeks, I haven't had enough sleep, I've been working way too much, and I haven't had enough time to be creative, to do all the things I want to, even if it is just lying in a park doing nothing, it still beats going through the grind every single day.

Oh and by the way I have no idea where I'm going with this, I'm just writing as I go along.

The title of the blog says it all, Travel, make pancakes, juggle, learn. This is the stuff I miss. I'm going to do it soon, and I do need to work so I can pay the bills, but this is crazy! Please remind me not to stress myself like this if you ever see me do it again.

I'm going to stop soon, two more weeks, then I go on a bender on Roskilde, then I go to Iceland, and before I go, I've decided to get a camera, I'll probably talk more about that later. Then I'm gonna do a little more work, but try and get time for other things too. and finally I'm going to go to EJC in Ptuj.

After all this wonderful traveling, I'm going to start school again, then I think I'll be able to do all the things I want. Travel? well, I just did that. Make pancakes? sure, whenever someones around to eat them I'll make them, remember my stove has to working plates right now, so it's easy! Juggle, well I'll be doing that at EJC, and I'll probably take a break afterwards, you tend to get juggler's despair after a week of 16 hours a day non stop juggling. Learn? definately! I've decided to go back to school, and finish up what I didn't finish last. and this time I'm serious, no really... stop laughing!

I have it all figured out, and I really thing it's going to work, I'll go to class, then I'll go read and study, then I'll go to the fitness center, then home, maybe eat a little, then sleep and start over. If I can do this, I'll have weekends free to do all the other stuff I want to do, and for socializing.

Right now, I'm going to go and eat rød grød med fløde, and recharge my batteries (both my own and my laptops)

Gadgets: Trinity

I'm currently on my way home from Guxi's where I have just installed one of two wireless netcards.

after some initial procrastation I went out, then back again, changed clothes, went out again and took the train to Herlev. Picked up the stuff I had initially planned to get and went to Guxi.

There I enjoyed wonderful company and great food while I installed the wireless netcard. I also installed messenger with the mess patch and messenger plus (14 year olds likes teh shiny) and of course IE 7 ;)

Note: this was written on my NEC e228, the links were added later

Gadgets: The Two Towers

So, I promised to post another update about my new geeky gadgets. But something came up.

Today however I have plenty of time, so here comes part two of the Gadgets Trilogy.

So, I had finally gotten the stuff from the post office, and was eager to put the new Wireless PCI card in my computer. But then disaster struck! Asus PCI is not PCI, it's some other damn format! !#¤%&. And since none of the computers was from asus I had two very cheap pieces of junk and no wireless.

Alas, there was also some good news, I got a sweet little webcam, that has already been put to plenty of use

Also I got a very boring 5 port Welland USB 2.0 PCI card it's boring because there is absolutely nothing to report about it, I didn't even notice it, it just worked right away, no installation, no nothing, it just worked! it's so frustrating when something like that happens, I'm actually considering installing the drivers from the cd just to stir things up a little and see if I can break it. It has one neat feature, one of the five USB ports are on the inside and I put my wireless USB dongle in threre, so it doesn't take up so much space, signals terrible, but I have so much more space :) Seriously I have no idea what I should use that inside USB for, but I guess some geeks could find a use for it.

Read part one and part three

Asterix and the Vikings

I finally got the picture Herle drew for me for my birthday back from Rammeværkstedet, it cost a bundle to get it framed, but it was worth it.

It looks great on my newly painted wall, and I hope I get other pieces of art or decoration to put up soon.

Chillin in the Sun

Ahhh, home at last, work was ok i guess, there were lot's of problems with the phone, and not so many stupid customers.

Now to enjoy some sun, and post some updates.

Investing: Teaser

I've just been to Merkur Bank and ordered 15 B-Shares at €184 a piece, totalling €2.761 all in all.

I'll write some more when they send me my shares.

Update: Tuesday and still no shares in the mail, Merkur Webbank still hasn't taken the money, so they probably won't come tomorrow.

MSN Spaces

I just want to make a brief comment before I get on with todays feature presentation: Gadgets part two.

So I just discovered what possibly millions of others are right now discovering. Something called MSN spaces this this is apparantly something like this. At my brief visit to my own Spaces Blog I found many a feature not entirely but not quite unlike Bloggers features.

So will it work? Who will survive? who will win, Google or Microsoft? Blogger has Microsoft beat on simplicity, also there's no ads. MSN Spaces has thousands of teens chatting away on Messenger 7. And is deeply incorporated into Messenger, I wouldn't even know it existed if it wasn't for Messenger.

So far I think I'm sticking with the geeky Blogger, but this may change in the future *ducks*

Update: I know, I know
